Chelsea Quigley

Biography

My name is Chelsea Quigley, and I am twenty-four years old. I have been creating little sketches since the age of four. My practice centres on the human body, portraiture, and the expressive possibilities of form. I like to move between digital work and more distinct abstract sketches, as my practice explores the body and face as both subject and expression. My work exists somewhere between precision and fluidity, capturing the beautiful gestures, details, and expressions that make each form uniquely human.

Project Statement

My work explores the human form as a language of expression. I am drawn to the body not only for its physical beauty, but also for the way movement, posture, and gesture can communicate emotion and individuality without words.
Working primarily with hyperrealistic digital art, I focus on capturing the details and subtleties that make each form feel truly alive. My process often combines digital techniques with the visual qualities of traditional media such as oils, airbrush, and pen.
Alongside my hyperrealistic work, I create more abstract sketches that explore the body through messy charcoal and graphite, creating a visual mesh that allows the piece to come together as one.
