Biography
Arath Herrera is an emerging artist from Waco, Tx who specializes in his work in Illustrations and Mixed Media. For the past few years, his work specializes in the taboo parts of life, focusing on ideas of self-identity/expression, mental health, and life’s hardships. His work has been seen throughout the U.S. including all over New York City, Chicago IL, and Los Angeles California. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and has had his work shown in various magazines/galleries. Arath aims to popularize looking at the smaller details in life through his art, and to encourage his audience to look inside themselves and envision themselves in the art.
Project Statement
The smallest details in life are crucial to one’s identity. My art explores this idea by encouraging viewers to look closely and to uncover the details of their own life to complete the story. These subtle elements shape who we are and often become what people remember us by. When brought together, these lines, shapes, and moments tell our stories and reveal unexpected connections between us all.
