Arty Rat is an independent art magazine showcasing bold contemporary work worldwide. Our Open Call invites artists and photographers to submit for publication and features.
Open Call Information
Submission is free for all applicants.
Please note that if selected for publication or exhibition, a participation fee will apply.
This call is open to artists worldwide. Applicants must be 18 years or older.
Selected artists will receive:
– A free digital copy of the magazine (PDF).
– Photos of their printed magazine pages.
– A feature on our Instagram account.
– Additionally, works by two selected artists will be featured on the magazine covers.
– One selected artist will be able to participate free of charge in the group exhibition The Names Gallery in Vienna (Austria), which will take place at the end of August.

Image guidelines
– Files must be in JPG or PNG format
– Name each file: First-Name_Last-Name_Title_Year
– You can submit up to 6 works
– You may paste a Google Drive/Dropbox link in the form, or email the files to artyratjournal@gmail.com

Is this open call free?
Yes – submitting is 100% free. There’s no cost to apply. A participation fee only applies if your work is selected for publication or exhibition.
What happens if I’m selected?
You’ll receive a free digital copy of the magazine, photos of your printed pages, and a feature on our Instagram. Two selected artists will also have their work featured on the magazine covers.
What are the publishing options and prices?
– Magazine publication: €35
– Magazine publication + artist page on the website: €65
– Curatorial review (magazine + website): €100
– Exhibition in Vienna: €100
Is the participation fee refundable?
No, the fee is non-refundable.
