Biography
My Name is Mary Mccoy Critchley and I am a 56 yr old from Ireland , my journey to here has taken decades.
I loved Art in school and wanted to go to art college but the art teacher told me in no uncertain terms I wasn’t good enough, so I didn’t apply and left that dream behind and went into corporate life and had a family and a house and all the things people do.
I didn’t paint again till Covid nearly 30 yrs later when I was a carer for my elderly father. I joined a carers online community and was asked to join an online art class The tutor said I had a style she could pick my paintings out, I was blown away. When my parents passed away and I was clearing out their house, I found my art folder from the 80’s hidden in a chest of drawers that had not been looked at in decades. The paintings were very similar to what I was painting now and the hardest part was that some were dated and the last date was 1987 when the teacher said that I wasn’t good enough.My dream then I am hoping is my future now, if you have a minute take a chance on viewing my art.
Project Statement
I am trying to bring all my art to the world by creating a website where it is listed, I am extremely new to the art world looked on with envy but was too afraid to join in.
