Biography
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Patricia creates paintings inspired by natural landscapes and scenes of nature from her travels in the Pacific Northwest and her home in Southeast Asia. Her work moves away from realism, instead rendering landscapes from memory to explore the interplay between perception and imagination.
By reconstructing landscapes through memory rather than direct observation, Patricia creates dreamlike environments that are both familiar and imagined – where nature becomes less a representation and more an expression of how a place is remembered and felt.
Project Statement
My practice explores the relationship between nature, emotion, and personal perception. Through painting, I create imagined landscapes from memory and daily observations, using colour, texture, and dynamic brushstrokes to evoke a sense of atmosphere rather than depict a specific location.
